Gossip Hurts

Oh man!! How many of you have listened to “gossip”? Not only did you listen to it, you took it a step further and shared it with someone else. What a slippery slope that is.

I’m not sure why we get into that mode of thinking it is okay to share someone else’s business. You may think that it is okay to “talk about” something that you don’t know is true or not with someone that you “think” you can trust. But listen my friend, it is not.

If you have a “friend” that is sharing the juicy gossip with you about another “friend”, what’s to keep them from doing the same to someone else about you? How hurtful to have others spreading true or untrue stuff about you and/or your family.

Let’s vow to stop hurtful gossip in its tracks. The only person that knows the truth about a given situation is the person that went through it. If you are not comfortable going to that person, then keep it to yourself and don’t gossip about it with others.

Don’t make excuses by gossiping in the name of sharing to pray about it. That is just an excuse.

You commit whatever it is to personal prayer time and see what God can do.

Proverbs 14:25 ERV
