God is So Good

The first part of our scripture for today says, “I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God.” When you stop and think about the goodness of God, the word “overwhelmed” is not an “overstatement”.

The words to a song, we used to sing at a church we were a part of in Tennessee says it better than I can…

“When I think about the Lord

How He saved me, how He raised me

How He filled me with the Holy Ghost

Healed me to the uttermost

When I think about the Lord

How He picked me up, turned me around

How He set my feet on solid ground”

And that is just the beginning to how good our God is. His goodness should overflow in our lives onto others.

And our thankful hearts may even cause us to continue with the rest of the words to that song…

“Makes me Wanna shout

Alleluia, thank You, Jesus

Lord, You're worthy of all the glory

And all the honor, and all the praise”

Isaiah 61:10 NLT

[10] I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.
