In James 4:7 we are told to “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Sounds simple enough, right? When you are being attacked on every turn, it can become a difficult to remember that all you really have to do is “resist” that slimy devil.

Philippians 2:5 tells us to, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” You take authority over your mind and your tongue. You pray and develop your mind into the “mind of Christ.” Think on the right things, don’t even allow the devil a small crack of an opening into your heart and mind.

Jesus was our perfect example of “resisting the devil.” He told him to “Get out of here”. He then quoted scripture at him. You know what happened next? “The devils went away”. How about that? And the cool thing is, we can do the same thing as Jesus did. We can tell the devil to get out of here in Jesus' name.

Below is an example of a prayer to tackle the “tempter in chief”. A way to prevent what he is trying to take from you. He only has power if you allow him to.

“Father, help me to understand the power that is mine in Jesus’ name. May I have the same boldness and tenacity as Jesus to defeat the devil in whatever he thinks is a trap.

I now say directly to the one who tries his best to tempt me and harm me. In the Name of Jesus, I command you devil to leave me, my family, and my property alone! Be gone!

To God be the glory. In Jesus name. Amen”

Matthew 4:10-11 NLT

[10] "Get out of here, Satan," Jesus told him. "For the Scriptures say, 'You must worship the LORD your God and serve only him.'" [11] Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
