Get Out of Here

I remember a time when my 2 oldest boys were in grade school and we had just gotten them a basketball goal put up. They were so excited to be out there shooting baskets and just having fun. They kept coming in the house. I asked what’s going on out there? The quick answer was, a couple of bullies kept coming by and hollering at them.
I told my boys, this is your yard and they have no business causing you to not enjoy it. So I watched, and sure enough when they went back outside, here came the two big kids shouting stuff. I surprised them and came out the front door and gave them a reality check (put the fear of Paula in them lol) I found out where they lived (actually they were visiting their grandparents). I basically told them to get out of my yard and go back to where they were staying. I also said, “I would be more than happy to take them and have a conversation with their granny.”
If I hadn’t confronted them, they would’ve thought they could continue to scare my boys and other people. I was not about to let a couple of punks mess with my boys. These kids (with cigarettes rolled up in their sleeves) turned and went back to granny’s house.
I wanted my guys to resist giving in and let them ruin what was theirs. They had to ignore them and tell someone, which is what they did.
The devil is a punk. He likes to come into your home to attempt to take the enjoyment and simplicity out of your life. The way you confront this bully is to resist him. When you do, the Bible tells us that he will flee from you. Go to the Lord and tell Him all about it and ask for His help in getting that influence out. Use the words in the scripture to run him back to where he came from.
James 4:7 NLT
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
