Forever and Always

Tomorrow people all over the world will celebrate a day that is focused on LOVE. It is a day of showing those we care about a little more grace sprinkled with a lot more patience and respect.

What if…

Every day was a day focused on love, respect and patience.

It is so easy to get caught up in the everyday things in life that relationships can become mundane. We begin to “expect” our significant other to just to take whatever we decide to dish out. (And that most times is selfish and unkind). If that is how you “love” your person on a daily basis, something is wrong there and should be fixed. If you are constantly thinking you are not being listened to, think about why that is and change your approach to conversation. If you are doing things that habitually irritate the other person, just quit that habit. Show love in real tangible ways.

Maybe the biggest thing I see happening in relationships is the lack of respect for each other. The love is there; the respect is not. Look at how you respect the other person’s time. Look at how you give and take and quit expecting your “love” to always be the giver and you’re the taker. Love them enough to allow mistakes and forgive. Then quit bringing up past failures that has caused division. You have chosen each other and promised to love each other forever and always…just do it. But do it right.

Jesus is our best example of loving forever and always. We never doubt His love. It is unfailing and better than life itself. When we think about it, it gives us nights of peace. We feel safe and secure there in that love. That right there is what we should aim for with our love for our husband or wife.

Psalm 63:3,6-7 NLT

Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! [6] I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. [7] Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
