Another one of my favorite acrostics. This time for the word “Fear”. False Evidence Appearing Real.
When you begin to realize that the majority of the time when you are fearful of doing something, you are really not seeing it as it really is. You are just “reacting” without discerning the situation. You make up all kinds of scenarios in your head that really aren’t even true.
I used to operate in fear as a teenager. For example: “I feared that if I tried out for a place on the cheer squad, I could fail, so why try? I saw the girls that were already a part of the team, and they were the popular girls, so how could I ever fit in?” Those feelings of inadequacy and fear of rejection were False Evidence Appearing Real!!!!
I had to face the initial reaction of fear and decide to muster up some courage and get out on that gym floor and try out. Turns out I made the team, and those girls became some of my best friends. Look what I might have missed out on as a teen if I had stayed with that first reaction of fear.
I love the fact that God wants us to be free from fears. Not just some of them, but ALL of them. Be specific with the Lord when you pray.
When you know you are facing unnecessary fear in your life, when you are finally seeing that what you have always perceived is just that (a perception) and not real, make a decision to step into courage!
Allow the Lord to set you free from F-E-A-R! He will do it, because he never breaks his promise.
Psalm 34:4 NLT
[4] I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
