Expressing Grace with Love

One of the best examples of grace is found in the story of the prodigal son. If you are not familiar, or have forgotten how that went down, here is a quick refresher.

A father has two sons that would be receiving an inheritance at some point. One of the boys decided he didn’t want to wait for his and requested getting his now instead of later. He took that inheritance, left home and blew it on a life that was not right. He had taken something that was meant to be a blessing from his dad and squandered it…he messed up big time.

When he was in a pigsty looking longingly at the slop the pigs were eating, he realized just how bad he had messed up his life. He wanted to go home…even if he had to live out the rest of his life as a servant instead of a son.

When he was on the road leading up to his father’s home, his father came running toward him with open arms and a loving heart. It was Grace of a father in full display. He loved his boy and forgave all of his mess-ups before he even made it to the house.

This is how we should show Grace to others that disappoint us. There may be stuff that they do and maybe even continue to do that irritates us, but we must show Grace if we ever want that type of love in return.

Psalm 145:8-9 ERV

[8] The LORD is kind and merciful, patient and full of love. [9] The LORD is good to everyone. He shows his mercy to everything he made. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
