It is easy to get so relaxed when things are going well, that we forget to be thankful for all the Lord’s blessings in our lives. In book of Luke, we are reminded that…It is because of Him that “we live and move and have our being”.

There is no room for any prideful statements such as, “look what I’ve done.” We all know full well the “plenty” we have on our table or the “plenty” we have to pay bills comes from the Father. We should be praising and thanking Him at all times.

You may say, “but I’m the one out there working and bringing in the finances…I’m the one putting food on the table…I’m the one making sure my family is taken care of every single day.” When you leave God out of the equation, that is when today’s scripture tells us to be careful.

Things could be going great, and then they aren’t. Just ask Job. He had it all and then he didn’t. Job was a good man, but his attitude about himself showed that he had been prideful. Take a look at his extensive use of “I” in chapter 29 as he tells of how things were before all the trials began.

Pride should have no place in our lives. Job realized this when God spoke to Him in the whirlwind in the following chapters. Everything we have, EVERYTHING comes from God. Job repented and God blessed him with even more than he had before. As a matter of fact, twice as much.

We are to remember that all our abilities; all our power; all our success comes from the Lord our God.

If you have been prideful, get that right with God and be thankful and acknowledge His hand in all you do and accomplish. He “gives you the power to create wealth!”

Deuteronomy 8:11,18 NLT

[11] "But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the LORD your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today. [18] Remember the LORD your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
