Don't Be Stupid

Wow! That sounds kinda harsh, huh? Proverbs 18:3 basically says just that.
My devotion today is dealing with passing judgment on others before we even know the “rest of the story “.
It is like being on a jury hearing testimony and thinking what was said sounded logical and could be true. THEN comes the cross examination, and that theory is blown outta the water. A true verdict could never be reached without all the facts.
Another example would be to look at someone whose life seems to be out of control and think you should “set them straight”. You have never sat down with them and really listened to what they have had to “walk” through in their crazy journey called life. Until you “walk in their shoes”, (whether by experience or just really listening to them) you really can’t understand. You don’t have all the facts.
More than likely you have never faced the “same” difficulties as the person you are “helping”.
Don’t be stupid in thinking YOU have all the answers without first truly listening to them. I would even advise them to be wary of you. Why should they listen to someone who hasn’t taken the time to listen to them?
