When I was little, I remember my mom always saying to put stuff away after I was finished with it. I hated that then, because it took some playing time away from me (or so I thought). What I didn’t know at the time, because I was a kid, the reason it was so much fun to messy up a room is because it wasn’t messy to begin with. That was part of the fun. Going into a room with everything already all over the place is just overwhelming even for a kid.

As mom and I aged, and I would occasionally spend the night at her place, something stood out. Before she went to bed, everything was in order. She didn’t keep a spotless house, but the order was there. She told me that she just didn’t like to wake up to a messy house. Wow so much to unpack here.

As you have probably figured out by now, there is something here to understand other than just an orderly home. Although that is extremely important too.

Here are some things that are causing disorder:

*Most of us stay too busy for our own good.

*We haven’t learned the art of saying NO and it’s a word you can add to your vocabulary.

*We are at odds with others for various reasons.

*Our lives have gotten so out of control, we don’t know what it’s like to sit peacefully in a room and relax.

*We don’t know how to ask for help, so we continue to try to do it all ourselves.

*We haven’t taught those precious kiddos to do their part in helping keep the mess to a minimum.

*We haven’t taught them how it is much more fun to play in a room that is picked up than one where a tornado has blown through it. (Let ‘em be kids, but responsible ones).

*We have in our head that it is the mom’s job to keep order, but in reality the whole family should help (including dad).

*We tend to become amateur hoarders...must stay decluttered

*We have allowed sickness to overtake us to the point of giving in to it.

*We never give a thought that some of those aches and pains may be caused by bad habits that need to be broken.

*You are not Superman or Superwoman get some rest

All of the above will cause disorder in your home and life. Ask yourself, “Am I living the peaceful life that God wants for me?” Make a few tweaks and line up some changes that will make your life better.

I love you all.

1 Corinthians 14:33 NLT

[33] For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God's holy people.
