But Did You Hear What They Said?

Have you ever heard the term, “wearing your feelings/heart on your sleeve”? It usually indicates that someone is very open emotionally. They don’t hide their feelings. It is normally a very positive approach to life but can be used against you if someone wants to hurt you.

We tend to react poorly to those that aren’t kind to us. We follow the “golden rule” with hopes that others will do the same. The thing is-the only person we can control is ourselves. We don’t have a way to “make” others be fair and right. Even when you are treated unfairly, even when untrue statements are made, even when your “feelings” have been hurt…you still have to be the bigger person and do good things and be fair.

Continue being that sweet person even if you are looked at as someone who is easily manipulated due to emotion. Don’t be deterred by those negative ugly people out there. You stay tender hearted and kind and fair. Learn how to guard your heart with strength that comes from the Lord.

The Bible encourages us to not grow tired of doing good. It says to not lose heart. Being kind to others will come back to you, because you reap what you sow.

Galatians 6:9-10 NKJV

[9] And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. [10] Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
