Builders

There are a couple types of people referred to in today’s meme … bunker builders and kite builders. We can, and should be, both.

We are told in Matthew that a wise person builds their house on a rock, so they are protected and have security from the winds of life. This would be the “bunker” builder. You know that your protector and strong defender is God.

When you fly a kite, you are dependent on the wind to keep it in the air as you hold tight to the string that keeps it steady. A “kite” builder wants to use the wind as a time to face life and use it to their advantage.

Imagine for a minute that the kite is you and you are dependent on the wind of the Spirit with the string held tightly by God, giving stability. With that in mind, would you see things a little differently?

Our house should have a foundation of God’s love and protection because of our faith in Him. The winds can’t take that away. The challenges of life are faced differently because the Spirit of God is directing and stabilizing how we deal with them.

Let the Lord build your house and use what comes (blows) your way to your advantage with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 127:1 NLT

Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.
