We touched on friendship the other day. Let’s go a step further today and talk about how wisdom and understanding play a role in those relationships.
As you know, Proverbs is full of wisdom that is meant to help us in our daily walk. Today's verse even says we are blessed to find it and not just find it but understand it.
Let’s apply that to friends.
How many friends do you really know? How many do you know about from what others have told you?
And then the big question…how many do you know and really understand their heart? Thats the kind of friend I want to be, and that’s the ones I want in my life for sure. Those that seek to really know me. Not just on the surface, but who I really am. I’m sure you would want that too.
We live in such a fake world. Let’s not allow that to seep into our friendships.
When you read the Bible, it takes more than just reading to understand what is being said. It takes spending time there and learning.
To have friends that are mutually beneficial to each other, it takes spending time and listening to each other’s story. There you will find wisdom and the beginning of understanding. None of this one-sided friendship stuff!
