Blessing Others

Have you ever been blessed by someone for no reason other than they wanted to be a blessing to you? What we don’t always recognize is how that person is refreshed in their own spirit when they leave you.

What we should be in the habit of doing is paying it forward when given the opportunity. We look for ways to bless others in ways that will benefit them. In the movie about this very thing, we can see how paying it forward changed the lives of many people. It made the difference of a good life or one that was sad and troubled.

We should all look for ways to bless others. That is not to say we are to always be bailing someone out of situations or giving them money. What it does mean is to love on them in such a way that they are blessed. It may mean money at times, or it may mean just being there for them. Be a listening ear with a big ole hug ready when needed. It could mean that you see your neighbor trying to fix a flat and you go and offer your help.

Know this, the Bible is clear, when you do good for others, you are blessed in return. I love how doing good for others is put in the passion translation, it “brings untold favor”.

Proverbs 11:24a;25b NLT

[24a] Give freely... [25b] those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Proverbs 11:27a TPT

[27a] Living your life seeking what is good for others brings untold favor…
