“Don’t be calling me a fake, that’ll ruffle my feathers. My back will go rigid and maybe I’ll even put up my fists.” But if someone is called religious, most folks seem to be okay that. That could be because they just don’t get it. They think it’s a good thing, when it actually misses the mark.

Let me help ya out today, by giving you a definition of religion that puts being “religious” in perspective. A former pastor of Bobbys (Pastor Callahan) said it this way: “religion is anything that appears to be, but stands in place of, a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.” Basically, appearing to be something you are not. A fake.

It is sad to say that many have replaced a true relationship with Jesus with being religious. Trying to do good without having a life based on His goodness in their daily walk. They live in bondage of trying and trying, but not quite making it. Jesus is the one that can set you free from that kind of religious life.

Jesus is the one that saves, changes, heals and sets free. When He sets you free from being “religious”, you are truly free and can live a life devoted to Him.

John 8:36 MEV

[36] Therefore if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
