Be Someone Who Cares Like Jesus

Someone who cares like Jesus is someone who sticks around when the going gets tough. They aren’t only “fair-weathered friends” who celebrate you when everything seems to be going right. They stick around when your foot slips and your life gets off track.

They encourage you to take a serious look at what’s going on and truly try to help you get out of the messy situation you may or may not have created. The Bible says to “restore in the spirit of meekness”. Or another way to say it is to “help that person make it right again and do it in a gentle way “.

A song that my mom used to sing so beautifully was “No One Ever Cared for me Like Jesus”. This song was written by an evangelist who had gone through his own trauma of loss. He came home to a note from his wife that she was leaving him. This caused him to spiral into near suicidal depression. When he was restored in his faith, that song came from what he had gone through. It has blessed so many.

“No one ever cared for me like Jesus; there’s no other friend so kind as He; no one else could take the sin and darkness from me—O how much He cared for me!” (Google the song by Charles Weigle and read all the lyrics)

Show you care. If someone is saying, “who cares”, say “I do”. Care for people when their lives are upside down. Gently guide them and stay focused on loving them like Jesus.

Galatians 6:2 ERV
