A few of the lyrics to a Joel Hemphill song, “He’s Still Workin’ on Me”, is an example of showing grace to ourselves and others.
“There really ought to be a sign upon my heart
Don't judge him yet, there's an unfinished part
But I'll be better just according to His plan
Fashioned by the Master's loving hands”
In Ephesians we see how it takes maturing in our faith before we can ever measure up to our full potential. Don’t miss the part about “knowledge”. You have to know what’s good and right. How do we know and understand the way we are to live? Looking to the examples in the scriptures is our source.
Jesus always extended grace and understanding to those that he came in contact with every day. He taught them by both His Words and actions. He is still with us…His Spirit and the Word can guide us, if we allow them to.
Grace is a key word in dealing with both ourselves and others…we are still a work in progress. We are daily being shaped into what we are meant to be. Stay in tune with the Word and stay tuned for the new Christian to develop.
Ephesians 4:13 NLT
[13] This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
