There are a lot of miserable people out there. They see fault with most everything around them. I would even go so far as to say that they wake up with a scowl on their face. Lordy, what a horrible way to live out your life.

Being thankful in everything (the good and the “not so good”) is key to living a happy life. I’m not saying we go through life looking through “rose colored glasses”. We go through it with a thankful mindset. The reason I say “mindset” is that everything begins and ends there. Be aware of what you are thinking and make adjustments that are needed.

Take some time today to examine where your thoughts are taking you. If they are leading you to depression and constant anxiety something has gone awry.

What is a thankful heart? It is one that has been made perfect through the Lord. If something has been made perfect, why would we dirty it up with depressing thoughts and actions. Start waking up with thankfulness instead of “woe is me”!

The chorus to a song that Reba Rambo used to sing came to my mind as I wrote this devotion today. This is a great place to start in the morning. (Along with Ps 100:4-5) Take it all in. Stop that “miserable thought life” in its tracks.

“Bless the Lord

Who reigns in beauty

Bless the Lord

Who reigns with wisdom and with power

Bless the Lord

Who reigns my life with so much love

He can make a perfect heart”

Psalm 100:4-5 NLT

[4] Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. [5] For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. #helpforyourdailywalk #paulaandthebible
