A Leaky Life

Being a spectator in life is easy. You just observe the success and failures of other people. You may see them going through things that you have not had to deal with yet.
You may think you are sitting pretty and BAMM! Your own roof starts to leak. You had observed your neighbor having to get a new roof and thought everything is hunky dory on your side of the street. Until…the evidence of a leaky roof start to appear inside your own home. A decision must be made and followed through with or before you know it, damage is done.
You’ve heard the term “sink or swim”. It literally means you have got to make the decision to start swimming, or you are gonna sink. That sinking scenario should help us realize the importance of doing our part in swimming versus drowning in our life. It takes a decision to swim.
Or another way to see this is… If there is a hole in your boat, water will leak in and start filling it. You could just look at that and determine that you are sinking, or you could plug up the hole and start bailing out that water before you sink. It takes a decision.
You have got to stop being a spectator and actually participate in bringing success to your “leaky” life.
Whatever is keeping you from being successful, is due to a decision you made. Decide today to listen and do the words in James 1:22…”do what God’s teaching says, don’t just listen and do nothing.”
Ecclesiastes 10:18 NLT
[18] Laziness leads to a sagging roof; idleness leads to a leaky house.
