A Friend Really Loves

In Proverbs 17:17 a phrase we all know, “A friend loves at all times.” What exactly does that entail? Are you only there when times are bad and then disappear? Or on the flip side, are you only there in the good times with nothing to stress you out?
That scripture tells us a different story than either of those instances. We are to LOVE at ALL times.
I have had those types of friends in my lifetime, and I’ve allowed distance to steal them from me. In the age of communication … that should never be. You can now FaceTime or Zoom with anyone, anywhere around the world.
You can spend time with them (although somewhat differently) but still talk to them as if they are in the same room with you. You can cry together, laugh until you spit or just share your amazing blessings with each other. That friendship can continue to grow and be a strength and blessing to both of you.
Keep those sweet memories of the times you were in the same room, restaurant or enjoying time outdoors. You can now make new memories, just in a different way. Enjoy each other’s company virtually and continue the laughter, the tears and the blessings of life. Be a friend that really loves at all times. I pray I do better.
Romans 12:15-16 NLT
Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. [16] Live in harmony with each other. Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all! #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
