A Firm Foundation

A commercial we hear on television asks the question, “Is there a crack in your foundation?” Have the conditions caused a crack, if not fixed, could destroy the entire home?

Having a firm foundation for your home and in your life helps you to know that what you are building on is strong and true.

In Second Timothy, we are encouraged to do what it takes to be someone in whom God would approve. We are told to avoid foolish talk that leads to godless behavior. This is the kind of “talk” or gossip that can spread like a cancer. It pulls others away from God instead of toward the faith.

If we are building our lives on the truth and strength of that firm foundation (God’s Word), we will try to avoid the things that are pulling us and others away. We will become a special “utensil” (the good china) that is pure and honorable and ready for use.

2 Timothy 2:19 NLT

[19] But God's truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: "The LORD knows those who are his," and "All who belong to the LORD must turn away from evil." #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
