Your Mouth, what's it Saying?

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Do you kiss your mom with that mouth?” It usually comes after you’ve heard someone expel a plethora of curse words. You are like, woah there!
It is not always what we think of as “curse” words that come flowing out of someone’s mouth that do harm. Sometimes it is hurtful, and damaging words said without thought of how it affects the other person.
As a parent, when those are said to an impressionable child, they can stick with them for the rest of their life. It can do more harm than you could ever imagine. I’ve heard stories that have made me sick at heart for those involved.
We need to all be aware of the words that come out of our mouths. We should always use our tongues for good. It is never helpful to love on someone one minute and then curse them the next. As today’s verse says, “this is just not right!”
James 3:6,9-10 NLT
[6] And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. [9] Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. [10] And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
