When You Slip Up, Don't Fall

There have been times in your life when you slipped up and did something that you shouldn’t have done. It could have been an innocent mistake, but you didn’t stop and consider the impact that this could have on your future. Added to this is the devil whispering in your ear, “You are not to blame…it’s his/her fault”. You begin to hear the criticism of your peers and want to be vindicated.
When you fall for one of the lies from the devil, you will begin to listen to his voice in your mind instead of the One that loves you and wants only good for you. That awful, sorry, evil devil now has you right where he wants you. You become prime real estate for him to try to crush you. He will use every means available hurt you and make it worse. You can’t let that happen.
You may say, “but I slipped up”. “God is surely disgusted with me.” That is another lie from the disgusting creep of a devil. Our verse today is plain. “If” we confess our sins…, what does it say will happen? He (God) is faithful and just. He will FORGIVE us our sins (and slip ups) and CLEANSE us from unrighteousness (wickedness, immorality, sinfulness, and iniquity). The whole gambit of wrongdoing is covered in that word.
When you go ahead and own up to your mistakes; when you make things right with God and those you may have hurt…there may still be criticism, but your heart will be filled with gratitude in the realization that God loves you. You may slip up but won’t fall for the devil’s lies again. He has no power (unless you give him) over a forgiven, Spirit filled man or woman.
1 John 1:9-10 NKJV
[9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
