What Are Your Heartfelt Prayers?

Your prayers could be for you or for someone else…or a combination of both. They could also be for your community, state or nation. The things that way heavy on your heart are the very things you should be releasing to God through conversations with Him.
Elijah’s prayer for no rain was for him to demonstrate to the people just how powerful God was over the false gods of Baal. They couldn’t hold a candle to GOD. The drought put the people in a position of choice. They had become evil and corrupt with no thought for others. It was time (past time) to realize Baal was getting them nowhere. They needed to decide who they would serve, Baal who was powerless or God who was all-powerful?
After 3 1/2 years God demonstrated to them the reason the choice should be simple. He could stop the rain, and He could bring the rain. Baal was only an idol with no abilities.
This all happened from a prayer of one man. He really is no different from us. He was human. What sets Elijah apart is his dedication and obedience. He knew that no matter what, God would take care of him. He was close to the one true God and was confident in that relationship. He prayed so that others could have that same relationship.
If our prayers seem to be stopping at the ceiling, it is time to do a checkup, as they say, “from the neck up”. Every thought effectively leads to where you are today and where you go from here. The Bible tells us that the “prayer of a righteous man availeth much!” Stay close to the Lord and don’t leave off the praying.
Imagine being so close to the Lord that you could pray fire down from heaven and then rain to put it out. What is needed in your life can be yours with heartfelt prayer. The Bible says, “believe and receive.”
James 5:17-18 NLT
[17] Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! [18] Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
