Unwavering Hope

Abraham is such a great example for all of us in having faith that doesn’t waver. He was empowered with such resilience and strength that you would never expect from a guy over 100. How was he able to have the kind of hope that looked past his current situation and see how things were going to be? It is in a word, “belief”.

Verse 18 says “even when there was no reason for hope, he kept hoping AND believing.” We can have that kind of unwavering hope. We have to “believe” when God says it, it is true and will come to pass. When you fill your days with the doubt and unbelief, that is what you will get. But when you fill your days with hope and faith in the Lord and His Word, you can see big things happening that to most would seem impossible.

I love that we have this example of someone who was at an age when most are sitting down and taking a back seat. Yet he is promised a fulfilling long life with many descendants. As many as there are stars in the sky.

If God can take someone as old as Abraham, and bless him in such a powerful way, don’t ya think He can do the same for you at whatever age you are today? Of course He can. Just believe and have that unwavering hope that He has a plan for your life.

Romans 4:20-21 NLT

[20] Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. [21] He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.
