Think Before You Speak

We all like to be heard. We believe that what we have to say is what the world needs to hear. The problem is not in the speaking; it is what you are saying. A thought process should always precede the speaking.

Is what I’m about to say helpful or harmful? Does it build up the listener or tear them down? Will what I say present a defeatist attitude? What about my tone of voice and the expression on my face?

This also applies to how you speak about yourself. Is what I’m saying about myself making my situation worse or am I saying positive promises from the Word that give me hope?

Apply this type of thought process to how you deal with yourself and others until it becomes “second nature”. If your heart is to be a kinder person, then be that. If you give no thought to how you treat or talk to others; and don’t mind pouring out evil and hurt…that is wicked. The next verse says that “the Lord is far from the wicked.”

Get your relationship with the Lord settled today. The last place you want to be is “far from” Him. When you are walking in the Lord’s goodness, (not your own goodness) …He will direct your path. And yes, that includes your mind and tongue. (What you think and say). IF you let Him.

Proverbs 15:28 GW

[28] The heart of a righteous person carefully considers how to answer, but the mouths of wicked people pour out a flood of evil things. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
