Have you ever wondered why some Christians seem so resilient and strong in their walk with God? You seem to be over on the sidelines of life struggling with your every move while thinking, “life just isn’t fair.”

If you take a closer look at those who have a strong faith, you will find that what we perceive as the “fairness of life” has nothing to do with it. They are strong because they made a decision at some point in their life to trust and obey the Lord, regardless of the circumstances. Below are the words of the 2nd verse and chorus of the old hymn “Trust and Obey”

“Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies

But His smile quickly drives it away

Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear

Can abide while we trust and obey

Oh, Trust and obey, for there's no other way

To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey”

That right there is what you are observing in the happy and strong Christian. Their starting point in their strong faith is trusting Him and obeying what He says in His Word. They find happiness in His name. They praise Him knowing He is their source of their joy, strength and power.

Psalm 89:15-17 ERV

[15] LORD, your loyal followers are happy. They live in the light of your kindness. [16] Your name always makes them happy. They praise your goodness. [17] You are their amazing strength. Their power comes from you.
