Speaking with Kindness

Today’s verses should give you a guidepost in your communication with other people. If you haven’t developed good judgement in how to have a conversation with another person (some can be difficult), check yourself first. Be sure that you are leading with integrity and honesty. Be sure you are kind with the way you approach and be sure you are listening.
You have no control over how the other person responds to you. You do have control over what you say and how you say it. If your objective is to only be heard, the result will reflect that. If you choose to have a good conversation by being kind and attentive, your results will reflect that as well. You will use words that build people up and not tear them down. Just because you think you know what is best for an individual, doesn’t mean they are ready to hear it. Show wisdom so that what you say teaches as well as soothes. I know I am asking a lot of you, but no one said it would be easy. Anyone can be kind if they make the effort.
Give them grace and room enough to grow. Never say anything that you don’t mean or would require a “wink or a smile” behind their back.
I’m going to leave you with some lyrics to a song that my hubby has on one of his CDs:
“Quiet, please
Too much has already been said
Just let it be
Learn to listen instead
For sometimes through the silence
Big problems become small
If you can’t find something good to say
Say nothing at all”
Proverbs 16:21,24,30 CEV
[21] Good judgment proves that you are wise, and if you speak kindly, you can teach others. [24] Kind words are like honey- they cheer you up and make you feel strong. [30] When someone winks or grins behind your back, trouble is on the way. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
