Speak Truth

You can’t always tell when someone is being straight with you by what and how they say something. This is why it is so important to stay grounded in your faith. What do I mean by that?
We live in a world that is fascinated by the “words of wisdom” (or non-wisdom) that comes from entertainers. Just because someone has been able to play a sport well, has musical talent or can play “make believe” in movies doesn’t make what they say true and something you should follow.
Many of these outspoken people have no relationship with Jesus making most of what they say hollow and without merit. They may seem clever and persuasive but be careful who you lend an ear to. We should always take what is said and see how it lines up with what we know to be true from scripture.
This is why we, as Christians, always speak truth. Speak from a heart of love guided by the Holy Spirit, not what is popular at the time. Most of us aren’t “elegant” speakers. In my case, I speak “Missouri Bootheel” lingo. LOL. But, when you are with me, you will NOT get a “whitewashed” story. You get Missouri Bootheel truth based on the Bible. And sometimes, with a little dash of humor.
Be a person that “what you see is what you get” and what you get is truth…in how you live and what you speak.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 NLT
[4] And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. [5] I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
