Sidetracked is Wack

“Wack” is a term we hear a lot from the younger folks. I looked it up and it serves me well in today’s devotion. Wack : of poor skill or quality : not good or appealing. When you get off the plan you and Jesus have set for your life, things begin to get a little wacky. Things you do become subpar. You become dissatisfied and unhappy.

You start looking at your progress and getting down on yourself. “I’ll never get finished!” “I should’ve never started this, what a mess!” Most of this could’ve been avoided, had you not allowed yourself to get sidetracked with something else.

One of the biggest sidetrack problems is procrastination. “I’ll do it tomorrow!” My FIL used to say “tomorrow never really comes because it always becomes today.” And to that I say, “Might as well stay on track and ‘getterdone’.“

In Proverbs we are admonished to keep our eyes on what is before us. We need to stay on the straight and safe path. And here is the kicker for accomplishing this…don’t get sidetracked. This will help you and keep you safe from the wackiness of the world.

Proverbs 4:25-27 NLT

[25] Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. [26] Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. [27] Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
