Some might call “being choosy” about your friends, “too strict.” I call it “self-preservation”. So many times we get involved with people that drain us rather than those that help us to grow. Those relationships can draw you away from what is right and good.

I read recently that when you are choosy it helps to “ensure your friendships are based on mutual respect and genuine interest, rather than superficiality or obligation”. That should give you a guidepost in the right kind of friends to have in your life.

If a true friend is someone that “sticks closer than a brother”, then it better be a good person. It should be someone that has faith, love and a pure heart for the Lord.

Be blessed!

2 Timothy 2:22 TLB

[22] Run from anything that gives you the evil thoughts that young men often have, but stay close to anything that makes you want to do right. Have faith and love, and enjoy the companionship of those who love the Lord and have pure hearts. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
