Seeing Others in a Different Light

I used to have friends that bugged the “you know what” out of me. If you are honest that has been a problem for you at times too. Being able to step back and reevaluate how you are looking at them could help.

Sure, they are a pain, but that doesn’t mean they are any less loved by God. He sent Jesus to reconcile EVERYONE to Himself. We just need to start seeing them in the way God sees them.

First and foremost, just as you have put your trust in what Jesus did for you and became a new person, you should want that for them as well. Not only want it for them, be a spokesperson for that “new life” available to them. God tells us that we are His “ambassadors”. We represent Him in how we deal with and help others.

Some may be struggling letting go of bad habits they’ve developed over the years. Some may not understand just what they have with this “new life” in Christ. See those folks through the light of how Jesus sees them. Give them loving guidance and understanding. They were made new when Jesus died for them. Now they have accepted that payment for all their sins. Big and small.

Through more understanding of the Word, they will learn how to walk in this new life. We all had to crawl before we learned how to walk. Be patient with the crawlers. Being “rough around the edges” isn’t fatal. A lot of these “rough” beginners are the most eager to learn.

Just be a good example for them. No more evaluating them in the way “you” think they should be.

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 NLT

[16] So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! [17] This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
