You say, “I try and try, but just can’t seem to live the way I should!” Therein lies your problem. You are so focused on the “trying”, you neglect the “relying”. As a consequence, you deal with the continuous guilt that comes from the trying and failing. Let me see if I can help you today.

Get your focus off of what you can’t do and put your focus on what Jesus already did for you. It’s like taking “preventative” supplements. You take them to keep you well, so you don’t have to face future issues. If you have placed your faith and trust in the Lord allow Him to guide your steps before you take a wrong turn. Be “Jesus focused”.

Along with that comes the developing of good judgement in your day-to-day activities. Take the time to read the entire 4th chapter of Proverbs today. It is advice that a father gives to a son/daughter.

Your Heavenly Father wants nothing more than for you to have a great life free from the guilt that comes from stumbling around in the dark. You should be living with a future that shines brighter each passing day.

Proverbs 4:18 NLT

[18] The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.
