Reflecting Truth

The result of being so caught up with looks in our society can be seen in the sunken faces we see in Hollywood. So many look at those “perfect” bodies and are willing to go to the extreme to be able to look in the mirror and see a reflection of what they’ve seen in the movies. They make the decision to follow the way of others that can lead them into a dark place. An unhealthy place they can never maintain without drugs or more surgery.

I want to impress upon you a truth from a scripture in the gospel of Luke that can help you realize where true beauty resides. It’s not in a pill or a shot or plastic surgery…it’s in a light that comes from being filled with the light of Jesus. It not only helps to illuminate your path but shines so that others see too.

You can fake having this light, but when you allow the darkness of the world to flood over you, this darkness can pervade your whole body. This will result in plain ole “ugly”. Ugly in how you talk about and treat others. But in contrast, when you are filled with the light of the Lord (His Spirit) you reflect the truth in things like love, patience, endurance and kindness.

And this, my friend, is beautiful.

Luke 11:36 TPT

[36] If your spirit burns with light, fully illuminated with no trace of darkness, you will be a shining lamp, reflecting rays of truth by the way you live."
