Praying is not an Option

I love the United States of America and that is why I proudly share the pledge in my devotional today.

When I was in grade school, we used to say that pledge at the beginning of each day before the “reading, writing & arithmetic” began. It was not an option, we stood; put our hand over our heart and stated our allegiance with pride. The teaching started at the point of the pledge and prayer. It helped us remember who we were as citizens here and in heaven.

As Christians, we need to pray for our nation, which this flag represents.

There is no option. If we ever want to have even a semblance of peace in our country, we need to be on the same page as God. We are not kids anymore and we do have choices, but those decisions we make can change more than just us…they can change our nation.

Just as Jeremiah told the people in Babylon to pray for the place they were living, we too should pray for peace where we live. Because if there is peace in your country, there can be personal peace for you.

Jeremiah 29:7 ERV

[7] Also, do good things for the city I sent you to. Pray to the LORD for the city you are living in, because if there is peace in that city, you will have peace also." #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
