Nobody Wants to be Around a Liar

I’ve thought a few times, and maybe even said out loud to Bobby, wouldn’t it be great if liars pants really did catch on fire every time they lied. Lol. Wouldn’t that be something? I know one thing for sure; the mainstream media would need the fire department on standby with each news broadcast.
If you find yourself “stretching the truth”, guess what? You are still lying. There is really no such thing as a “little white lie”. It is a LIE any way you slice it. I would rather (possibly) “be in trouble” with the truth, than to still be in trouble trying to cover something up with a “truth-stretch” or whatever I would decide to call it on a particular day.
The truth should always be enough. Being honest gives you security in your life. It keeps you from having to remember what you said, because what you say, every time you speak, is the truth.
Verse 11 in today’s scripture even goes a step further by saying, our words will be like a spring of fresh water. If you have ever been to an actual “freshwater spring” you know how fresh and satisfying those are. How cool when others want to be around you because they feel refreshed after having been in your presence.
Keep your “pants from catching on fire” and just always be truthful. Be that “spring of fresh water” that refreshes.
Proverbs 10:9,11 ERV
[9] Honest people can always feel secure, but lying cheaters will be caught. [11] The words of good people are like a spring of fresh water, but the words of the wicked only hide their violent plans. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
