Imagine How Good it Could Be

Whenever you have a free moment to sit and think, where do your thoughts go? Are you imagining wonderful blessings from the Lord? Are you more focused in on all going wrong in your life?
When you really “think” about it, your thought life (imagination) is a gift from God. He has given it to us to help us, not to hinder us. It is up to us to determine when and how we use it. In school, we would get in trouble for daydreaming instead of listening.
As a kid, we were “dreamers”. That is something that grade school teachers discouraged (during class of course). But as “Uncle Buck said it, “I don't think I want to know a six-year-old who isn't a dreamer, or a silly heart.” Maybe encouraging them to listen first then dream, would be an appealing approach to a six year old. Having a wonderful imagination can serve you well if used in the right way.
As adults, some of us have lost what it is like to use our imagination in a positive way. Instead of being excited after our “thinking session”, we feel depressed and defeated. This is because we have gotten the dreaming and listening backwards. Listen to what the Word says, and then let your imagination go wild on just how good things can be in your life in general and life in heaven.
Read the scripture below and put it into practice.
Philippians 4:8-9 MSG
[8-9] Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious-the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
