I started singing in church when I was a little girl. I was 5 years old when I sang my first solo called “How About Your Heart”.

I’m sure as a five-year-old I didn’t understand all the words I was singing, but I sure do today. Here’s the chorus…

“People often see you

as you are outside

Jesus really knows you

for he looks inside

how about your heart?

is it right with God?

that′s the thing that counts today”

We are so caught up in the “doing” of the activities, we forget to check our motives. Your reason for loving and doing for others should be from a pure heart of love. It should never be a “look at me” attitude or with ulterior motives. Look at some more of the lyrics…

“Friend how would you feel

if your heart were made

with a window on each side?

so that all could see

not just outward charm

but detect if inward harm”

Let’s do a little self-reflection.

What are the desires of your heart? Are you selfish? When you do for others, is it to be seen? Are you kind and loving? Does the love of God show through in all you do? When others are in your presence, do they feel you care about them?

May Gods wealth of treasures shine through the windows of your heart…a heart protected from thieves and the elements of the world! Be a genuine Christian with a heart full of “all things God!”

Matthew 6:19-21 NLT

[19] "Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. [20] Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. [21] Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
