We don’t live in a kind and sensitive world. We live in a world that does not have our best interests at heart. It is a “selfish” “every man for himself” type of existence. In order for us to survive and thrive in this kind of atmosphere, we need to have strong faith. We need to be a “Brightener” and stay encouraged in our faith. We need to “talk the talk” AND “walk the walk”.

Our scripture today tells us the way to achieve a victory over the daily evil we are around. It is through our faith-The type of faith that puts some action to your words. Why is action so important?

In James we find the action of faith… “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’ Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works”.

When others see your faith in action, it is an encouragement to them as well. You are not some “Debbie Downer” with no faith to speak of. You are someone that demonstrates your faith by how you treat others and walk in love. You sincerely seek God’s direction. You want to please Him.

Hebrews 11:6 states that it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Have victory. Keep using your faith in a positive way. Keep seeking God. Be a blessing. Let Him guide your every step.

1 John 5:4 NLT
