Don't Act the Fool

Did your mom or dad ever tell you (as a teenager) before you left the house, “Be safe and don’t act the fool”? If so, you probably answered, “Okay” and then went out the door and acted like a fool with your friends. The temptation to be like the crowd was strong as a teenager. For some teens, it got them in a heap of trouble.
We know now why our parents were so strict when it came to our friends. We are influenced by those we hang with. Even as grown adults, we can still allow ourselves to be pulled into unwise situations. We need to become the one that influences others with positive thinking and doing, rather than the other way around.
Take every opportunity to live out your faith among your friends and family. This world can be evil and cruel and there are plenty of awful people ready to mess you up. Don’t act the fool and follow their lead. Be aware of the choices you make daily. Stay wise in those choices and stay diligent in nurturing your relationship with the Lord. Guard your alone time with Him.
Ephesians 5:15-17 NLT
[15] So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. [16] Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. [17] Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
