Bright and Morning Star

When it is the dark of night and the power goes out, what do you reach for so that you can see? You need some sort of light to be aware of what’s in front of you. Most times we feel our way through the dark to reach a candle we have stored away with a lighter or a flashlight. We know that a light in the darkness is what is needed to easily make it from one place to another.

If it happens to be a clear night (no visible moon) and you go outside, any stars that you see will seem brighter than usual up against the dark sky. The darker the sky, the brighter the shine.

We can relate this to our lives. Troubled days can be brightened with the light of Jesus shining bright. As a reminder, Jesus is referred to as the "bright and Morning Star" in Revelation 22:16. This should give all of us hope when life seems dim and sometimes really dark.

Today's verse emphasizes that our life and light come from Jesus. No darkness can ever defeat that light. This means you don’t have to feel or be defeated during those dark times in your life. No matter how much comes on you and causes you to stumble in the dark, that light is available to you.

You don’t have to “feel your way through the darkness.” You have the Word to help you find your way. That bright and Morning Star is also the Word that is here to give you guidance.

John 1:4-5 NLT

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. [5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.#paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
