Be Encouraged

If you read the chapter before today’s verse you see that Daniel had been praying for a good while. He was tired and weak and somewhat discouraged.

He has a vision of a man who said to him, “Daniel, you are very precious to God… “” Don’t be afraid. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer.”

Then in today’s verse he repeats. “Don’t be afraid, you are very precious to God”. He went further and said, “Be encouraged and strong!”

That right there is a statement we could all take to heart. When we are tempted to grow “weary in well-doing”, we need to realize the last part of that, “we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up”.

Be encouraged, hear the words, “you are doing great”. “Don’t give up…stay strong in the Lord and be of good courage!” You are not in this thing alone. Be strengthened and know you are precious to God.

Daniel 10:18-19 NLT

[18] Then the one who looked like a man touched me again, and I felt my strength returning. [19] "Don't be afraid," he said, "for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!"
