Are We There Yet?

What are a couple of questions we hear over and over from our kids when on a long trip? “Are we there yet?” and “How much longer?” Our answers vary. My dad would say (while in flat land) “Over the next hill”. To which I would ask, “Have we been over that hill yet?” It would seem as if we were never gonna get to our destination.
When our journey to a goal in this life seems so far away or out of reach, we have a tendency to throw up our hands in defeat or despair. Our approach should be to “enjoy the journey” as we grow in wisdom. The hurdles of long and sometimes difficult sections of this journey can seem as if they take forever to pass over.
I look at this a little differently than some. I relish in the lessons I am learning along the way. The wisdom gained. The Bible says that wisdom is more precious than rubies. I’ve always loved the beauty of a ruby (my birthstone) and there is beauty in gaining knowledge rather than wanting to “arrive”.
When you think you have arrived, realize there is always more to learn. Never stop in the wisdom journey. This is the very reason this 73-year-old lady has read 43 books in the past year and a half. I am still soaking up wisdom as my journey continues.
Proverbs 3:15 NLT
[15] Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
