A New Thing

First things first. Get fear of “being afraid” of doing something you’ve never done before out of your life. The “fear of fear” stops so many from accomplishing new and cool things in their lives. There is no way it benefits you, so there is no need for it.
Just because it is new territory for you, doesn’t mean you should tremble with words such as, “I will never accomplish this or that!” “I am too old or too young!” “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks!” “I’m just a kid, no one will take me seriously!” Can you see how those things could cause you to stop in your tracks of expanding into what God wants for you?
Now that we’ve covered the fear of the unknown, let’s take a moment to consider how we might turn the page and start fresh.
The new season of fall has begun with cleaning out the old and replacing with fresh fall decorations. It is sort of exciting to get rid of the old and replace with the new all the while enjoying the crisp fall weather. God is so good and knew we needed that.
As you begin this new season in your life, let go of anything in your past that haunts your present. Be freed from those things that hold you back from doing the very things that will bring you joy. Replace the old fear with confidence that you are in good hands. Bring a new crispness in the air with prayer.
There is lots we don’t know, but we see in Jeremiah where God says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
God is available to help us do a new thing. Turn from the old, crinkled page to a crisp new page and flourish.
Isaiah 43:5a,19 NLT
[5a] "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. [19] For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
